Understanding ROI, Percentage Change & Annualized Return

ROI (Return on Investment)

Profit earned relative to cost, shown as a percentage.

Formula

ROI = ( Net Profit ÷ Cost ) × 100

Tip: Positive ROI → gains; negative → loss. Include fees in cost for accuracy.

Percentage Change

How much a value increased or decreased from a starting point.
